William “Bill” Andrew Rogers, Jr

Mr. William “Bill” Andrew Rogers, Jr., age 75, of Jackson, passed away August 21, 2023. Bill grew up in Jonesboro, son of the late William “Bill” Andrew Rogers, Sr., and the late Clara Myers Rogers.  He attended Jonesboro High School and served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War.  He worked at H. B. Fuller for 39 years, first in Forest Park, and then later in Covington, retiring as a Master Mechanic.  He was a long-time member of the Jonesboro Church of Christ.  Bill enjoyed sports and when his boys were young, he coached them in baseball, basketball, football, and soccer.  He also liked to hunt, fish, and go camping.  His favorite place was West Point Lake. More than anything, Bill loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Karakos.

 

He is survived by his wife of 37 years:  Cheryl Rogers; sons and daughters-in-law:  Billy and Courtney Rogers and Drew and Sheri Rogers; grandchildren: Logan and Stevie Bradshaw, Drake Rogers, Morgan Cage, Rylee Rogers, and River Rogers; brothers and a sister: Walter, Johnny, Tommy, Jaytee, David, Michael and Deborah; mother-in-law: Florida White; sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law: Tammy Smalley and Larry and Anna White; many nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 3 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Mr. Larry White and Pastor Ron Edwards officiating.  Burial will follow in Moody Memorial Gardens in Zebulon.

 

Friends may visit the family on Saturday, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the funeral home.
