Timothy Craig "Tim" Norris

Mr. Timothy Craig "Tim" Norris, February 25, 1960-August 1, 2023.

Mr. Timothy Craig "Tim" Norris, age 63, born in Jacksonville, Florida, from Macon, Georgia, formerly of Thomaston, Georgia died peacefully Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin, Georgia.

Mr. Norris was the son of the late Ostelle and Betty Yates Norris. He is survived by his sister, Carol Norris Odom of Thomaston, Georgia, and two brothers, Rodney Brent Norris and wife Mary Beth, of Tallahassee, Florida, and Michael Russ Norris of Thomaston, Georgia. He also leaves behind his faithful, furry companion, Ralphie, a good dog.

Tim was the loving uncle of Shannon Odom, Lisa Odom Holmes and Andy Johnson, Dixie Michele Odom and Philip Webb, and Brian and Keely Norris, grand uncle to Charlie Holmes, Cameron Holmes, Silas Barfield, Bella Grace Webb, Sadie Millwood, and Lucas Webb, and dear friend to so many.

Tim was an affable and exuberant automobile salesman for most of his adult life. It's possible that some customers even drove home in a new car they were never really looking to buy! And his friends and family were always in the car they wanted, regardless of how tirelessly he tried to talk them into a more sensible option. He loved selling cars, and he was good at it. But what he loved most was all of the people he was able to help, friends he was able to make, and communities he was able to be a part of. Tim, like his father, was an avid golfer and whether he was winning or losing, loved every swing. Ralphie may have been his favorite golf partner, but he appreciated and admired everyone he had the opportunity to play with and against. Some might have said Tim wasn't the greatest at chipping and pitching around the green, but the truth is he just never found a distance so great that he couldn't putt it.

Tim loved his family and friends endlessly, and they all loved him back. He was truly an institution everywhere he lived, worked, and played. Whether you were on the car lot, the golf course, or any of his parents' or brother's restaurants, everyone knew Tim. And Tim made everyone feel like a friend.

Tim was a proud graduate of R.E. Lee Institute, class of 1978. Many have come to believe that he was a part of their graduating class, however, as he and his dear friend Hank have managed to weasel their way into dozens of class reunions over the years. Tim was timeless that way. He was a faithful supporter of Florida State University as he loved and followed the life of his hero, his brother Brent. Tim's love for others was never more apparent than in the way he loved his brother. Even as they both fell ill, Tim was always there for Brent, Beth, Brian, and Keely.

Tim's final days were full of fun, laughter, and love, living with his brother Russ and sister Carol. He played as much golf as his body would allow and then a little more. Every day for 63 years, Tim brought joy to at least one person's life. In his later years, Tim gave his life to Christ and committed himself to helping as many people as he possibly could. He walked with people in their darkest times, made broken families whole, and loved them when they least deserved it and often when no one else would. The bright light and joyful sound that Tim brought to the world will be sorely missed and never replaced. But the impact he had on everyone he met and everywhere he called home will live on for generations after his passing.
