Mr. Adam Bartley Burford, age 54, of Milner, passed away August 14, 2023, at his home. He was born in Griffin, son of the late Jerry Burford and the late Brenda Jones Burford. Bart grew up playing sports coached by his daddy, and later in life he loved coaching his sons’ baseball teams. He worked as an elevator mechanic for 23 years. He was employed with TK Elevators and enjoyed lunches with his work buddies at The Bullpen. He grew up hunting with his daddy and brother and was a member of the Griffin Gun Club. He was an excellent woodcarver, placing 2nd in the World Duck Carving competition and duck hunted for years with his close friend Scott Wiederholt. Bart and Betsy enjoyed their date nights with their close friends Brandy and Leon Alpough. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He loved watching MASH with his beloved lab, Waylon. Bart was a member of the First Baptist Church in Zebulon.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years: Betsy Burford; sons: Tanner Burford (Sara) and Marshall Burford (Bridgett Frazier); sister: Nina Fowler (Hal); brother: Jay Burford (Patty); nieces and nephews: Bessa Fowler-Bellezza (Adam), Aubrey Fowler (Cydney), Brenna Fowler, Meredith Craddock (Justin) and Hannah Burford; four great-nieces and one great-nephew.
A celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at 5 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home.
Friends may visit the family on Thursday, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the funeral home.
