Mr. Mark Whatley Yates, age 70, of Thomaston, died Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Atrium Health Navicent in Macon.
Mr. Yates was born on July 9, 1953, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late George Yates, and the late Rosa Portella Yates. He worked as a Safety Manager at DHL Shipping and was a member of Northridge Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Matthew Corby Yates.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Fowler Yates of Thomaston, brothers, Scott Yates, John (Elaine) Yates, sister, Elaine (Jerry) Moore, grandchildren, Kaelie Burkhardt, and Jackson Yates.
It was Mr. Yates's wishes to be cremated and no services are planned at this time.
