A native of Atlanta, GA, Mrs. Stallings was born August 11, 1943, to the late Fred and Anne Orr Hand. She has lived most of her life in Thomaston where she was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and a former longtime member of Clarks Chapel Baptist Church. Mrs. Stallings was a graduate of North Clayton High School and received her associate's degree from Georgia State College. Mrs. Stallings had a long career in banking starting with First National Bank, then Bank of Forest Park, and Fulton Federal Savings and Loan in Atlanta, and briefly was with West Central Georga Bank in Thomaston, She then worked for Lawrence L. Allen, MD for several years before her retirement. Mrs. Stallings was a member of the Gideons International Auxillary, having served as chaplain.
Mrs. Stallings was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Bobby Joe Hand, and a sister, Jane Wells.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Larry Dennis Stallings, Sr, of Thomaston, and her son, who she truly adored, Larry Dennis Stallings, Jr, she is also survived by her brother, Daniel Hand of McDonough, and her nieces and their husbands, Dawn Roberts (Kenny) of McDonough, Tonia Price of Smyrna and Dana Pass (Andy) of Gainesville, GA.
Funeral services will Monday, October 30, 2023 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home with burial at Crystal Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 30, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
