Richard Kenneth “Ken” Huggins

Mr. Richard Kenneth “Ken” Huggins, age 79, of Meansville, passed away October 20, 2023.  Ken grew up in the East Point area, graduating from Headland High School.  He worked as a Firefighter for the City of East Point for over 30 years before retiring as a Captain.  He was a long-time member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Thomaston.  In his younger years, he liked to ride his Harley-Davidson motorcycle with friends. Later in life, Ken enjoyed bird watching, old westerns, and baking.  He would make banana bread, fudge and other sweets and take them to neighbors and friends around town. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Mary Lee Huggins, brother, Billy Huggins, wife, Mildred “Mo” Huggins, and grandson, Collin Huggins.

 

He is survived by his children: Lisa Crook (Wayne) and Kenny Huggins (Tanya); grandchildren: Cody Crook (Felicia), Kelsey Crook (Corey), Josh Huggins, Rebekah Williams, Jacob Williams, and Cash Huggins; great-grandchildren: Wylder Crook and Blaire Crook. 

 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Pastor Derrick Keeter officiating.  Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Crestlawn Memorial Park, 2000 Marietta Blvd NW, Atlanta, GA 30318.

 

Friends may visit the family on Monday, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the funeral home.
