Ms. JoAnne Parker Williams, age 70, of Thomaston, passed away February 14, 2023.
JoAnne was born on August 21, 1952, to the late John and Joyce Parker. She grew up in Atlanta alongside four sisters. JoAnne was a homemaker and mother to four daughters. She was a longtime resident of Thomaston.
JoAnne, affectionately known as “Maw Maw”, was a happy and giving lady who continuously cared for others. She was a devout Christian who made a habit of studying the Bible and other Christian books. JoAnne enjoyed working crossword puzzles, scratching lottery tickets, and drinking a cold Mountain Dew. She was an excellent cook and hostess to all the grandchildren and friends she enjoyed having at her home. Most important in her life, was JoAnne’s role as Maw Maw to the many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews she loved so dearly. JoAnne will be remembered as the matriarch of her family and a dreamer with a loving spirit.
In addition to her parents, JoAnne was preceded in death by her husband: William Donald Williams; granddaughter: Allana Daugherty; sisters: Marie Mendoza and Jean Parker; sons-in-law: Dink Howington and Bobby Guy Jr.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Mike Swindle, Melvin Robinson, Mike and Pat Williams, and Cindy Graves.
She is survived by her four daughters: Joyce Marie Keck, Brandy Simmons, Michele Howington (Ronnie Gordy), and Jennifer Williams; grandchildren: Danielle Harrell, Skyler Hencely, Lee Rogers, Sam Howington, Blake Brown, Amber Daughtery, Faith Keck, Jonathan Guy, Austin Daughtery, Hunter Howington and Kayla Keck; many great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews including special nephews: Kane and Kody Williams; loyal canine companion: Gracie the weenie dog.
A funeral service will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, February 19th in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home. Friends may visit the family beginning at 2 PM at the funeral home.
