Ms. Annie Belle Caldwell, age 84, of Zebulon, passed away February 6, 2023.
Ms. Annie was born on February 20, 1938, to the late Carl and Louvenia Archer. She grew up, the daughter of a farmer, alongside four brothers and four sisters. Ms. Annie was a 1956 graduate of Zebulon High School. She went on to marry Charles William Caldwell in 1964. The couple made their home in Zebulon and had one son, Tony. Ms. Annie was a seamstress for Mochet Corporation in Griffin for many years. She was a longtime member of New Hope Baptist Church in Zebulon.
Ms. Annie was a sweet, lovely lady. She wouldn’t say an unkind word to anyone but was known to say, “That’ll make you say your Sunday school lesson backwards!” She liked working outside in her yard and enjoying the sunshine. She was a talented quilter and made many quilts. Ms. Annie especially loved Saturdays when her grandchildren would come to visit her. Ms. Annie will be remembered as a loving and gentle mother, sister and Granny to her beloved family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Charles William Caldwell, grandson, Levi Caldwell, two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Tony and Lisa Caldwell of Zebulon; grandchildren: Eli (Victoria) Caldwell and Gabby Caldwell; great-granddaughter: Lilianna; special niece: Bonnie Moore; sisters: Emma Mayfield and Sandy Nicholson; brothers: George Archer and Grady Archer; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, February 9th in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Caldwell officiating. Friends may visit the family beginning at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
