Mr. Butts was born on June 15, 1949, in Thomaston, to the late James Abner Butts and the late Amanda Sanders Butts. He served his country in the United States Air Force and the Army Reserves in Vietnam. He worked for Kraft Foods as a machinist and a member of First Baptist Church in Jonesboro. Mr. Butts was also a member of Forty and Eight. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his daughter, Shannon Marie (Logan Phillips) Butts of Gainesville, FL., son Ryan Patrick (Roxanne) Butts of Fayetteville, brothers, Jimmy (Diane) Butts of Dunwoody, and Freddie Butts of Yatesville.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. from Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 4, 2022, from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
