Mrs. Virginia Louise Glover Parks, age 99, of Zebulon, passed away November 1, 2023, at her home. She was born in the family home in Zebulon on June 26, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Earl Allan Glover and Ludie Mae Harris Glover. She attended New Hope Baptist Church all of her life and was the oldest member there. In her early years, she worked at Lowell Bleachery-Dundee Mills in Griffin. Mrs. Parks took pride in her work and worked for 33 years as the library assistant at Pike County Primary School until the age of 83, where she touched the lives of many children. She enjoyed quilting, reading, baking, and traveling with her family and the T-town Travelers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Parks, her brother, Frank Glover, and sister, Willie Parks.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Steve and Pam Parks of Winterville, GA, Terri Parks of Zebulon, Kim and Jim Chagnon of Zebulon, Patty and Radine Darden of Zebulon and Vicky Parks of Forsyth; grandchildren and their spouses: Randy and Lindsay Parks, Becky and Colt Facer, Christopher and Abby Parks, Dawn and Troy Matthews, Rachel Bagwell, Jennifer and Rusty Scott, Alisa and Justin Stephens, Kristy and Josh Lee, Nathan Mullins, Andy Dukes and Hannah Neissel; 15 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by a brother, four sisters and a brother-in-law: Dot Glover of Zebulon, Mary Hendrix of Senoia, Bob Glover of Monroe, WA, Pat Watkins of Thomaston, and Carol and Buel Allen of Thomaston; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at 3 p.m., in New Hope Baptist Church, 4920 New Hope Road, Zebulon. Pastors Josh Gilliam and Kenneth Carter will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may visit the family on Sunday, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the church.
