Mrs. Cheryl Anita White Rogers, age 66, of Jackson, passed away November 26, 2023, at Sacred Journey Hospice in McDonough. She was born in a military hospital at Ft. Devens, MA, while her father was serving in the United States Army. Her early years were spent moving to military bases and attending schools all over the world.
Cheryl worked as a radio operator for the GA State Patrol and served for several years as Communications Operator for the security detail at the governor’s mansion in Atlanta. She also worked at the Department of Motor Vehicles, retiring after 33 years with the State of Georgia. Cheryl enjoyed camping, crocheting, and painting.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, William “Bill” Andrew Rogers, Jr., father, Carl Edmond White, niece, Erin Lannen, paternal grandparents, Burley and Irma White, maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Allie Bryant, and her cousin, Robin White.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Drew and Sheri Rogers and Billy and Courtney Rogers; grandchildren: Rylee Rogers, River Rogers, Logan and Stevie Bradshaw, Drake and Arielle Rogers, and Morgan Cage; mother: Florida White; sister: Tammie Smalley; brother and sister-in-law: Larry and Anna White; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home, with her brother, Larry White officiating. Burial will follow in Moody Memorial Gardens with Pastor Ron Edwards officiating.
Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.
