James “Jim” David Calhoun

Mr. James “Jim” David Calhoun, age 52, of Griffin, passed away July 14, 2023, at Northside Hospital in Atlanta.  He was raised in NY on a family farm in West Edmeston, where he lived until the age of 12 when he and his family moved to Griffin, GA.

Jim had the best heart and was always helping others.  He enjoyed working on vehicles and fishing.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay Calhoun and Josephine Slentz Calhoun and his sister, Jan Calhoun.

 

Jim is survived by his sisters, a brother and their spouses: Nancy and Bernie Whitacre, Ginny and Tim Rockwell, Jodi and Danny Hawes and Jacob Calhoun; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his girlfriend, Michelle. 

 

A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 24, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home.

 

Friends may visit the family on Monday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the funeral home. 

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to assist with funeral expenses.
