Jacqueline Birdsong Nix

Mrs. Jacqueline Birdsong Nix, age 74, of Thomaston, died Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation.  Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Nix will be held Friday, February 2, at 11:00 AM in Upson Memorial Gardens with Rev. Joey Smith officiating.  The family will receive friends Thursday evening, February 1, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home.

Mrs. Nix was born in Thomaston on June 3, 1949, to the late Billy Birdsong and the late Betty Sue Heaton Birdsong.  She was a 1967 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute and was retired from the Thomaston-Upson School System where she was a paraprofessional.  Mrs. Nix was a long-time member of East Thomaston Baptist Church.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jearl "Jerry" Nix. Survivors include her sons: Jeremy Nix (Bill Shoemaker) of Tucker, GA, and Chris (Angela) Nix of Thomaston; a brother, Mark (Dawn) Birdsong of Thomaston; two grandchildren: Austin Nix and Lauren (Nate) Guy; one great grandchild, Ella Hay, and several nieces and nephews.
