Funeral services for Mrs. Hendrix will be held on Thursday, January 25, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Jackson officiating. A private family interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Thursday from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour.
Mrs. Hendrix was born in Thomaston, GA, on January 15, 1948, to the late Frank Teal and the late Elsie Jackson Barentine. She was a homemaker who dearly loved and took care of her family. She enjoyed reading, listening to country music, cooking, and cleaning. Mrs. Hendrix was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Lee Hendrix, Sr., her son, Donnie Wayne Hendrix, her step father, Ernest Barentine, and two brothers, Stanley Byron Teal and Wayne Keith Teal.
Mrs. Hendrix is survived by two daughters: Melisa (Bubba) Hammond of Thomaston, and Sherrie Helms of Meansville; a son, Billy Lee (Tangie) Hendrix, Jr., of Thomaston; a daughter-in-law, Tracey Hendrix of Thomaston; a sister: Marsha (Donald) Goodman of Thomaston; six grandchildren: Amber Hendrix, Tristen Helms, Dustin (Jessica) Hendrix, Briana Helms, Marisa Bedgood, and Blake (Larsen) Hammond; six great grandchildren: Lydia Williams, Parker Scott, Harper Hasty, Kinslee Hendrix, Charlie Hendrix, and Memphis Bedgood. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
