Mr. Pevey was born on June 6, 1956, in Tallahassee, Florida, to the late Carroll Earl Pevey, and Emma Jean Reese Pevey. He worked as a master auto technician for Ford Motor Company where he was the Shop Manager for 40 plus years, and then went on to work at Home Depot. He was a faithful member of New Harmony Baptist Church for 30 years. He is preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Molly Summitt Pevey of Thomaston, mother, Emma Jean Pevey of Hahira, daughters, Jennifer (Terry) Dean of Hahira, Pamela Pevey of Reidsville, Carol Jean (Derrick) Anderson of Altha, Florida, Vann (Scooter) Gilbert of Tyrone, daughter-in-law, Beth Speelman of Thomaston, son, Josh (Jennifer) Speelman of LaGrange, brother, Mike Pevey of Tallahassee, Florida, mother-in-law, Frances Summitt of Thomasville. 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 20, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. from New Harmony Baptist Church. Burial will follow at New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 19, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to New Harmony Baptist Church at 163 New Harmony Church Road Thomaston, GA 30286.
