Martha "Maxine" Eubanks

Mrs. Martha "Maxine" Eubanks, age 90, of Thomaston, died Saturday, April 20, 2024, at her residence.

Mrs. Eubanks was born on March 14, 1934, in Tift County, Georgia, to the late Loucedious Daniel, and to the late Addie Tapley.  In high school, she was an all-state basketball player.  Mrs. Maxine loved basketball, softball and became a huge UGA Bulldog fan.  She was the owner of Northside Superette and a member of Silvertown Baptist Church, where she worked in the nursery and was one of the many who worked tirelessly in the Silvertown Soup Kitchen. She walked in many charitable events to raise awareness for charities such as the March of Dimes. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Edward Eubanks.

 

Survivors include her daughters, Debbie (Jimmie) Wilson of Thomaston, Denise (David) Neikirk of Milner; son, Greg (Tammy) Eubanks; sister, Rudine Wilson of Peachtree City; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Southview Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday, April 22, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Silvertown Baptist Church at 300 Goodrich Ave. W Thomaston, GA 30286.
