Anne Hyde Cloy

Mrs. Anne Hyde Cloy, age 77, of Zebulon, passed away at her home on April 24, 2024. She grew up in Newnan, daughter of the late James Alvin Hyde and Nell Hardy Hyde. In her early years, she lived in Columbus. When she moved to East Point, she met and married her high school sweetheart, Bill Cloy and they have been together for 62 years.  They traveled the country together while he served in the US Navy.  They settled in Jonesboro, where they raised their family and then moved to Zebulon in 2004. While her children were young, Anne was a homemaker and then worked as a Paraprofessional with the Clayton County School System for 13+ years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed yard work, cooking and sewing. Nothing gave Anne more pleasure than serving and hosting others in her home. Anne was a member of The Gathering Church in Thomaston.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Hyde.

She is survived by her husband: William B. “Bill” Cloy, Jr.; children: Kim Chapple (Rob) and Shane Cloy (Mandy); grandchildren: Alex Chapple, Callie Chapple, Cole Chapple, Hannah Dawson (John), and Jackson Cloy; great-granddaughter: Caroline June Dawson; brothers-in-law: Mike Cloy (Linda) and Bob Cloy; sister-in-law: Michelle Hyde; several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., in the Pavilion at The Gathering Church, 456 Hannahs Mill Road, Thomaston.  Pastor Charles Bennett will officiate.
