Teresa Joy Flournoy Brazel

Mrs. Teresa Joy Flournoy Brazel, age 67, of Brooks, passed away at her home on April 30, 2024.  She was born and raised in Atlanta. Teresa was in the banking industry for most of her life in Atlanta and Fayetteville. She enjoyed working in her yard and had beautiful flower gardens. Swimming and the beach were some of her favorite things, along with watching old black and white movies and collecting antiques. Being together with her family is what Teresa valued the most in her life. She will be remembered by her faith in God, her love of animals, her laughter, compassion, generosity, and her strength. Teresa bravely fought cancer for twelve years.

Teresa is survived by her husband of 51 years, Barry Russell Brazel; son, Preston (Meredyth) Brazel of Molena; grandson, Chandler (Elizabeth) Brazel of Molena; granddaughter, Kylee Brazel of Carrollton; great-grandchildren, Brooks and Livi Brazel; sisters, Terry Chapman of Estill Springs, TN, Temme (Glenn) Donegan of Blairsville, and Tanya (David) Bessent of Brunswick; brothers-in-law, Billy (Judy) Brazel of Loganville and Bert Brazel of Sandy Springs; many nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews as well.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Murtice Flournoy; brothers, Tommy (Jackie) Flournoy, Tyrone Flournoy; sister, Tuesday (Larry) Custer; brothers-in-law, Bill Chapman, Johnny Lander, Brian Brazel, and Brett Brazel; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Allen and Catherine Brazel.

 

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at 2 p.m., in Moody Memorial Gardens with Pastor Charles Johnson officiating.
