Mrs. Dana Leanne O’Pry Sage, age 48, of Barnesville, passed away September 20, 2024. She grew up in Griffin and graduated from Griffin High School in 1993.
Dana earned her Associate’s degree from Gordon College, her Bachelor’s degree in education from Brenau University and her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College. She was a 3rd grade teacher at Ola Elementary School in McDonough for 7 years and taught 3rd through 5th grades at Pike County Elementary School for the last 18 years. Dana enjoyed trips to the beach, cruises and shopping.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Derry O’Pry, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pepper and Elaine Sage, and her brother-in-law, Ken Sage.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years: Will Sage; children: Logan Sage and Maddy Sage; mother: Sandra Walker; sisters: Wendie Goolsby (Chris) and Valerie Lawson; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
A service celebrating Dana’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 5 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Pastor John Mark Cooling officiating.
Dana’s family requests that you wear bright, vibrant colors or tropical attire to celebrate Dana’s life and her love for the beach.
