Mrs. Betty Jo Martin Thompson, age 85, died Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at Ansley Park Health and Rehab in Newnan Ga.
Mrs. Thompson was born March 29, 1932, in Upson County to the late Emmett Eugene and Mary Kate Martin Sr. She was secretary at the Thomaston First Baptist Church and member of the Thomaston First Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Paul Thompson Jr; and brother, Frank Martin. Survivors are her daughter, Judy (Harvey) Knight of Newnan; brothers, Emmett Martin Jr of Thomaston, Buddy (Kay) Martin of Stone Mountain, Gary (Debbie) Martin of Thomaston; grandchildren, Ashli (Dan) Tucker, Dustin (Carol) Waller; great-grandchildren, Austin Tucker, Mary Kate Tucker, Wells Waller, and Cooper Waller.
Funeral services for Mrs. Thompson will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Southview Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 25, 2017, from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Coggins Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shrine Association of Thomaston.
