Mrs. Sara Davison Thompson

Mrs. Sara Davison Thompson age 84 of Thomaston, a loving wife, mother and grandmother died Wednesday March 25th at Providence Health & Rehab.

Mrs. Thompson was born on March 17, 1931 in Thomaston to the late James and Eva Mae Davison. She was a member of Silvertown Baptist Church for many years, and in recent years was a member of East Thomaston Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Ed Thompson, in 2006. They were devoted to each other and to their son, Kenny. Throughout Kenny's school years,
Sara and Ed never missed his baseball or football games. Whether the games were at home or out of town, fair weather our foul, they were in the stands supporting him and his teammates. They were also faithful booster club members. After Kenny joined the U.S. Navy, they kept in touch with him wherever he was stationed. This same love and devotion carried on to their grandchildren, Kenny and Kelly, and they looked forward to them spending every summer with them in Thomaston. Sara and Ed planted a big garden every year and enjoyed freezing and canning their vegetables and sharing the bounty with their family, neighbors and friends. They also loved to bowl and were members of the B.F. Goodrich team, of which Sara served as secretary. A lifelong resident of Silvertown, Sara worked at Martha Mills B.F. Goodrich for more than 40 years until her retirement in 1995. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her son Mr. Kenneth D. (Robin) Thompson of Atoka Tennessee; brother Mr. Milton (Emily) Davison of Thomaston; grandson Mr. Kenneth L. (Kimber) Thompson of Houston Texas; granddaughter Kelly Thompson of
