MR. JOHN JAMES WRIGHT

Mr. John James “Johnny” Wright, 79 of Thomaston died March 4, 2020 at his residence.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Wright was born November 2, 1940 in Thomaston, GA to the late Jack and Clara White Wright. He served in the National Guard, and was the owner and operator of Wrights Electrical Contractors. Mr. Wright was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Troy and Jimmy Wright, sister, Sandy Curtis.

Mr. Wright is survived by his wife, Betty Joyce Wright of Thomaston, daughter, Angela Buschman (Gary) of Salem, AL, son, John James Wright, Jr. of Pike Co., GA, sister, Sally Piccolo of Jacksonville, FL, three grandchildren, Gary Hunter (Jennifer), Nick Hunter (Elyse) and Branden Buschman, seven great grandchildren, Samara Kelloes, Scarlette Burks, Theo Hunter, Ozzy Hunter, Margot Hunter, Miri Hunter and Brantley Hunter.

DEACON JESSE BYRD HARPER JR.

Deacon Jesse Byrd Harper, Jr., more affectionately known as "J.B." 81, passed on 

Saturday, February 29, in the Upson Regional Medical Center.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 7th at 1:00 P.M. at the Mount Olive

Missionary Baptist Church in Molena, GA.  Interment will be in the Church cemetery.

MR. FRED OLIN "BILLY" PITTS SR.

Mr. Fred Olin "Billy" Pitts Sr., age 90 of Thomaston, Ga., died Tuesday March 3, 2020 at his residence.

Mr. Pitts was born June 20, 1929,  in Upson County Ga, to the late William Marshall Pitts Sr. and the late Essie Helms.  He owned and operated Mid Ga, aluminum since 1948. He was a Mason and a Shriner, a member of the local Moose Club and the American Legion.  Mr. Pitts was a member of the First Baptist Church and served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Laverne Gatlin Pitts of Thomaston, Ga, sons, Fred O. (Cindy) Pitts Jr., of  St. Augustine, FL., Stan (Chrystie) Pitts of Thomaston Ga, Rod (Kristie) Pitts of Thomaston, Ga., daughters, Debbie (Tony) Martinez of Thomaston Ga, Marsha (Alan) Landers of Williamson Ga, step-daughter, Debbie Partridge of Thomaston Ga, 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mr. Pitts will be held at The Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home, on Friday March 6, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.. Entombment will follow at Upson Memorial Gardens with Masonic and Military honors. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Thursday March 5, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the First Baptist Church  T.V. Ministry at 208 S. Church St. Thomaston, Ga. 30286.

Mr. Gary M. Owen, age 75, of Thomaston, died Monday morning, March 2, 2020,
at his residence.
Memorial services for Mr. Owen will be held on Thursday, March 5, at 6;00 PM
in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home, with Chaplain Tom Lee
officiating. The family of Mr. Owen will receive friends on Thursday from
5:00 until 6:00 PM, at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home.

JUSTIN KYLE TAUNTON

Justin Kyle Taunton, age 32, of Thomaston, GA. died Tuesday February 25, 2020 in Crawford County.

Justin was born February 27, 1987 in St. Lois, MO to the late Randy Taunton and Shaye Thompson Lingo.  He worked for Murphy Clearing and Grading in Thomaston, GA. He is preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his mother, Shaye Lingo, daughters, Taylor and Carley Taunton of Thomaston, GA., brothers, Brandon Gravitt of NC., Mitchell Strickland of Tallahassee, FL., and sister, Heather Wagoner of Duluth, GA.

Mr. William Larry Ellerbee, age 79, of Thomaston, GA., died on Sunday March 1, 2020 at his residence.

Mr. Ellerbee was born July 25, 1940, in Upson County, GA., to the late William Alton Ellerbee and the late Dorine Pryor Ellerbee.  He served his country in the US Navy in the Vietnam War.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Ellerbee of Thomaston, son, Phil Graling (Debra) Ellerbee II of Cave Springs, GA.,  daughters, Teresa (Jay) McDaniel of Thomaston, Angie Ellerbee Scott of Griffin, GA.,  brother, Phil (Debra) Ellerbee Sr. of Thomaston,  sister, Sandra (Courtney) Phelps of Thomaston, five grandchildren, Leigh McDaniel, Justin Scott, Charis Ellerbee, Camille Ellerbee, and Graling Ellerbee. 

Funeral Services for Mr. Ellerbee will be held on Wednesday March 4, 2020 from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will follow at Hendricks Baptist Church cemetery. Family will receive friends on Tuesday March 3, 2020 at Coggins Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m.
