Mr. Alan Elliott Brown, 59, of Snellville and formerly of Woodbury, died Sunday, March 27, 2016 in Snellville.
Funeral services for Mr. Brown will be held on Saturday, April 2nd, 2016 at 2 pm in the Chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Wright officiating. Mr. Brown was born in Thomaston on June 27th, 1956, a son of the late Wilburn Brown and Rachel Fallin Brown. He was a salesman for High Cotton Antiques in Woodbury and was formerly employed as a salesman for Bostwicks Furniture Store in Thomaston. He grew up in the Trinity Baptist Church and had recently attended the Lawrenceville Church of God.
Mr. Brown is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Karen B. and Pastor Gary Wright of Snellville; an aunt, Laverne (Frank) Shepard of Thomaston; an uncle, Dennis Brown of Thomaston; and nieces, great nieces and great nephews, Ashley Robb, Amber Blankenship, Hailey Frank, Rachael Garner, and Brady Robb, all of Marietta. Numerous cousins also survive.

Dr. Rex King will officiate and burial will follow in the Lakeview Memory Gardens, Phenix City, AL, at 2:00 PM EST. Mrs. Gordy was born in Concord on May 11, 1936, a daughter of the late James Glover Jones and Mary Lee Smith Jones. She was a homemaker and was also a retired kindergarten aide with the Upson County School System.
She was a member of the Mountain View Baptist Church.
Mrs. Gordy is survived by her husband, Larry Gordy; four sons, James M. "Jim" Kent, Jr., of Chattanooga, TN, Mike (Sherri) Kent of Signal Mountain, TN, Thomas (Judy) Gordy of Byron and Carl (Leann) Gordy of Millington, TN; a sister, Mary Jones of Thomaston; two brothers, Larry (Evelyn) Jones of Molena and Billy (Janice) Jones of Thomaston; two grandchildren, Madison Kent and Mason Kent; and seven great grandchildren, Christine (Stephen) Reese, Raymond (Jessica) Denton, Joshua Denton, Adam Gordy, Carl Gordy, Jr., William Gordy and Nicholas Gordy. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James M. Kent.

Mr. William Howard Baughcum, 84, of Ellenwood, died Sunday, March 20th, 2016 at Upson Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services for Mr. Baughcum will be held on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2016 at 2pm in the Chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Elder Tim Mullins and Elder Eddie Wigby will officiate and burial with full military honors will follow in the High Shoals Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Lamar County. The family of Mr. Baughcum will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Monday from 6 until 8 pm.
Mr. Baughcum was born in Thomaston on March 29th, 1931, a son of the late Hiram R. Baughcum and Thelma Smith Baughcum. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and Vietnam War and retired at the rank of Staff Sergeant.
After his military service Mr. Baughcum was employed by the Georgia Department of Transportation and was also a self-employed home builder. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Baughcum is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Mamie Iona Mullins Baughcum; four brothers, Bentley (Betty) Baughcum of Griffin, Doug (Nell) Baughcum and Roy Baughcum, both of Thomaston, and Floyd (Mildred) Baughcum of Woodland; several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and great nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Eugene Lowe Sr; and son, Billy E. Lowe Jr. Survivors include her daughter, Brandy Lowe of Thomaston; son, Barry (Angela) Lowe of Thomaston; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
