Mr. Thomas was born September 28, 1944 in Upson County to the late William Sanford and Myrtle Passmore Thomas. He retired as owner of Albo's Sports Bar & Grill in Brunswick.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby Thomas and Jimmy Thomas. Survivors include his nieces, Tammy (Ronnie) Barrow, Ginger Thomas Phelan, and Trisha Collins; nephews, Joe (Nancy) Thomas, Randy J. Thomas, and Roland (Gloria) Thomas; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Ms. Morris was born May 26, 1960 in Forsyth to the late Bobby Ray and Lola Grace Morris. She was a member of Hebron Congregational Church.

She is survived by her brother, Jerry Morris of Thomaston; and sister Ann(Tony) Stansell of Thomaston.

Funeral services for Ms. Morris will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Coggins Funeral Home.

Mr. William Joseph Shumate age 93, of Thomaston, died Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Upson Regional Medical Center.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Shumate will be held on Saturday, June 27th, 2015 at 11:00 AM in Upson Memorial Gardens with Rev. Joey Smith and Rev. Jerome Stallings officiating. The family of Mr. Shumate will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Friday from 5 until 7 pm.
Mr. Shumate was born in Thomaston on March 20, 1922, a son of the late Hardy Shumate and Daisy Eidson Shumate. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served in the European and African Theater of Operations during World War II.
After his Army service Mr. Shumate was employed as a foreman in the spinning department of Thomaston Mills until his retirement in 1986.
He was a member of East Thomaston Baptist Church.
Mr. Shumate is survived by two daughters, Gloria Taylor and Pamela (Duane) Kellett, both of Thomaston; five grandchildren, Slate Taylor of Atlanta, and Sloan (Tim) Ledbetter, Shay (Ricky) English, Bree Kellett (Wayne) Lowry and Ryan Kellett, all of Thomaston; and six great grandchildren, Dayne Lowry, Jackson Lowry, Ellie English, Jules Passmore, Landry English and Emilia Lowry.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtice Barron Shumate.

Mrs. Fox was born on January 11, 1920 in Portsmouth VA, to the late Lydon and Hilda Bernard Benton. She is a retired Dietary worker for Coronado Hospital in California, and was of the Baptist Faith.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Fox; granddaughter, Kimberly Wilson, sister, Annie Mae Boomhower, and niece, Patricia Boomhower. Survivors are her daughters, Mary Ann Roughton, Carolyn Ussery, and Linda Booth all of Thomaston; sons, Hilton Roughton of Woodstock GA, and Ray (Ginny) Fox of NC; grandchildren, Preston Wilson, Scott Wilson, and David Wayne Roughton.

Mrs. Watson was born on May 16, 1926 in Cochran Ga, to the late Huey and Addie Lee Smith. She was formerly employed with Thomaston Mills where she worked as a spooler.

Survivors include her daughter Mrs. Glenda (McKenzie)Ellington of Thomaston Ga, son Mr. Bobby F. Watson of Thomaston Ga, grandchildren Mr. Kevin (Donna) Watson of Ludowici Ga, Mrs. Melinda (Paul) Rogers of Thomaston Ga, 6 Great Grandchildren. 3 Great Great Grandchildren.

Mr. Nossett was born in Indianapolis IN on June 16, 1957 to James and Penny Smith Nossett. He was an area supervisor with Waffle House Restaurants, and was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Connie Nossett of Thomaston; daughters, Bethany (Wynn) Trice of Williamson, and Anna (Jared) Davis of Woodstock; brothers, Chris (Theresa) Nossett of Roswell, and James (Lori) Nossett of Brownsburg IN; and grandchild, Sawyer Davis.

Mrs. Virginia Marilyn McDonald, age 64, of Thomaston died Tuesday June 16, 2015 at Providence Health and Rehab Center.

Mrs. McDonald was born in Zebulon on February 11, 1951 to the late John and Carolyn Cochran Martin Sr. She was a secretary at West Central Georgia Bank and was a member of Hightower/Silvertown Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Danny McDonald of Thomaston; daughter, Lynn (David) Cummings of Thomaston; son, Dan (Samantha) McDonald of Thomaston; brother, John (Barbara) Martin Jr. of Hickory NC, and three grandchildren.

Mr. David Windham Ellerbee, 68, of Thomaston, died Sunday evening, June 14, 2015, at Golden Living Center. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 16, at 11:00 AM, in the chapel of Fletcher Day Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Morgan officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Hendricks Baptist Church Cemetery. The family of Mr. Ellerbee will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home.
Mr. Ellerbee, a native Upsonian, was a graphic designer. He served his country in the United States Army with the 82nd Airborne Division in Viet Nam. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, and Combat Infantry Badge.
Mr. Ellerbee was preceded in death by a brother, William M. "Mickey" Ellerbee. Survivors include a daughter, Wendi Brook Ellerbee of Douglasville ; two sisters: Kay E. Darsey of Thomaston and Barbara Grace of Douglasville; and a brother, Carey Ellerbee of Thomaston. One granddaughter also survives.

Mr. Ottis Jackson Hewatt Jr., age 83, of Thomaston, died on Sunday June 14, 2015 at Riverside Health and Rehab.

Mr. Hewatt was born on July 28 1931 in Tucker GA to the late Ottis Jackson and Thelma Frazier Hewatt Sr. He retired after 40 years as an auto mechanic and worked for himself and Crossroads Chrysler. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Peggy Elizabeth Fields. Survivors are his wife, Alma C. Hewatt of Thomaston; sons, Jack (Debbie) Hewatt of Jasper GA, and David Hewatt of Acworth GA; Brother Gene (Lou) Hewatt of Hiawassee GA; sisters, Doris Stampp, and Janice Hewatt of Decatur GA, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Danny Hoyt Williams, age 56, of Thomaston, passed away June 10, 2015. He grew up in Pike County, loved going to church, and attended Open Arms Baptist Church in Zebulon. Danny enjoyed drag racing. For many years he worked at Greg Holland Trucking Company. He was preceded in death by his fathers, Hoyt “Willie” Williams and Charlie “Buck” Calvert, sister, Marilyn Williams Phillips, and brother, Bill Calvert.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years: Joette Daniel Williams of Thomaston; daughters: Jessica Ruddick of Georgetown, TX and Michelle Williams of Thomaston; mother: Betty Williams Calvert of Griffin; sisters and a brother-in-law: Pam Williams of Griffin, Martha Jean Calvert of Barnesville, and Sheryl and Hal McGinnis of Jonesboro; brother and sister-in-law: Tim and Kathy Calvert of Zebulon; grandchildren: Madison and Geoffrey Ruddick of Georgetown, TX; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Edwin Russell Brazier, age 80, of Zebulon, passed away June 9, 2015. He was born in Zebulon, son of the late J. H. Brazier Jr. and the late Ada Elliott Brazier. He retired from Crompton-Highland Mills after 30 years. He then worked for Dundee Mills for several more years. He was a cattle farmer who enjoyed deer hunting and spoiling his nieces and nephews. He was a loving son to his beloved mother, Ada.

He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law: Janelle and Arthur McKinley of Zebulon; nephew and nieces: Joe McKinley of Zebulon, Sharon Steger and husband Ronnie of Milledgeville, and Kay Sawyer and husband Hal of Zebulon; great-nieces and nephews: Danielle Sawyer and friend Nick Metallides, Jason Bleu Flournoy and friend Jennifer Jones, Kay Hurt and husband John, Shana Needham and husband Kevin, Brantley Steger and wife Crystal and Chad Steger and wife Brenda; many great-great nieces and nephews; special friend: Debbie Pollard; and many other friends and relatives.

Mr. Raymond Ricky Bell age 60 of Panama City Beach Fl, formerly of Thomaston Ga, died Monday June 8, 2015 at his mothers residence. 

Mr. Bell was born on January 24, 1955 in Thomston Ga, to Erma Trice and the late Raymond Bell. He was formerly employed with Norfolk Southern Railroad for 12 years and also worked as a lock smith.

Graveside Services will be held on Thursday June 11, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. in Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Thursday June 11, 2015 from 2-4 p.m.

Mr. Leon Gary Tucker "LG" age 76 of Thomaston Ga, died Monday June 8, 2015 at The Medical Center of Central Ga.

Mr. Leon Gary Tucker "LG" age 76 of Thomaston Ga, died Monday June 8, 2015 at The Medical Center of Central Ga. 

Mr. Tucker was born on June 13, 1938 in Alapha Ga, to the late Bethel and Alice Mae Tucker. He was the owner and Operator of Tucker Foods for 18 years and also owned and operated The Music Man since 1994. Mr. Tucker was a member of Pritchett Memorial Baptist Church where he served as an ordained deacon. He was an avid musician where he was a member of the Kirkland & Friends Band as well as the Hollanville Opry House Band. Mr. Tucker served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea. He was preceded in death by his first wife Mrs. Sandra Gray Tucker, sister Mrs. Mavis Grantham.

Survivors include his wife Mrs. Lynn McRae Tucker of Thomaston Ga, sons Mr. Benny (Laurie) Tucker of Thomaston Ga, Mr. Bobby (Kim) Tucker of Thomaston Ga, step daughter Ms. Michele Shelly Cofer of Meansville Ga, sisters Mrs. Brenice Brown of Council Bluff Ia, Mrs. Joann Grantham of Ozark Al, grandhcildren Mrs. Brittany (Robby)Kelly of Thomaston Ga, Mr. Tobin Lee Cofer of Meansville Ga, great granddaughter Miss. Aubree Kate Kelly of Thomaston Ga.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday June 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from Mountain View Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Wednesday June 10, 2015 from 5-7 p.m.

Mr. Wayne Lee Dover, age 76, of Thomaston, died on Monday June 1, 2015 at Golden Living Center.

Mr. Wayne Lee Dover, age 76, of Thomaston, died on Monday June 1, 2015 at Golden Living Center.

Mr. Dover was born on February 10, 1939 in Thomaston Ga, to the late Clayton and Winnie Lee Dover. He was formerly employed with Lafayette Nursing Home where he worked as a Nurse. Mr. Dover was a member of Holy Ground Worship Center. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a medic and did a couple of tours in Vietnam.

Survivors include his daughters Mrs. Susan (Toby) Burton of Austin Tx, Mrs. Sherry Teeler of Austin Tx, sisters Mrs. Helen (Claude) Ivie of Stockbridge Ga, Mrs. Mildred Tingle of Thomaston Ga, Mrs. Audrey (Tommy) Blackmon of Barnesville Ga, Mrs. Linda (Ross) Reeves of Thomaston Ga, Mrs. Sandra (Gene) Schofill of Fayetteville Ga, Mrs. Brenda (Billy) Schofill of Thomaston Ga, Mrs. Vickie (Warren) Hansen of Jacksonville Fl, sister in law Mrs. Martha Dover of Thomaston Ga. 3 Grandchildren.
